Tattoo ink is the only safe ink to tattoo yourself with. Using any other type of ink is a bad idea.

I also suggest that you use tattoo ink. It’s easy enough to acquire on the internet through any reputable tattoo supply website. There are a number of reputable brands out there like Intenze, Mom’s and Kuro Sumi. For a home-job, any ink should do fine.

My advice to you is just don’t do it. About 3 months ago I attempted to give myself a homemade tattoo with Indian ink. It looked good for a few weeks and then started to fade. Now it is just a bad scar. Your best bet is to go spend a few bucks and get a real one.

Tattoo ink, of course.
However, India Ink which can be bought at an art supply store has been used and can be if everything else with it is sterile, but I personally probably wouldn’t do it. However. a few of my friends have.
Best of luck. :]
