Every tattoo artist I have been to, suggests you only leave cling film on your tattoo until you get home.. which is to stop bacteria getting into it.. as a new tattoo is known as a wound. Once you are at home, you should take it off and follow the steps the care sheet will give you.. washing it in warm soapy water and towel patting it dry. You should use unscented lotions as scented ones cand drain the colour. I found vaseline and cocoa butter worked best and kept my tattoo’s looking brand new! Your tattoo artist may tell you different but i only kept mine covered for that long and all 5 are perfect 🙂

It really depends on where the tattoo is. If it is in a place where the fabric of your clothes rubs against it then I suggest two to three weeks or until its fully healed. If its at a spot where you can let it air with out clothes rubbing against it then you should be good to take the plastic off a day or so after, just keep it moist.

It should scab over, then wait till its healed. Just keep putting unscented lotion on it so it does not dry out!
